Tenth Clarinet in City-County Honors Band (Junior): One of eighteen clarinets from four area high schools nominated by a board of band directors.

 

Fourth chair flutist in District V Concert Band. (Sophomore)

Eighth chair flutist in District V Symphonic Band.  (Junior)

Seventh chair clarinetist in District V Symphonic Band. (Junior)

First chair clarinetist in District V Symphonic Band (Senior)

-District V Bands: Musical ensembles auditioned for by students of high schools throughout the district.  The Concert Band is the lower band; Symphonic is the higher.  Generally, sixty to ninety students try out on flute and clarinet each year.

*Through placement of seventh and first chair clarinet, I qualified for state band.

 

Invited to join Spanish Honor Society. (9, 10)

-Invitation based on involvement in class, character demonstrated,and receiving an "A" average in previous Spanish courses.

 

Invited to join Social Studies Honor Society. (10, 11, 12)

-Invitation based on knowledge of Social Sciences,  and receiving an "A" in Social Studies courses.

 

Invited to join National Honor Society. (12)

-Invitation based on character, leadership, community service, behavior, and cumulative GPA.

 

Invited to join Youth and Government Club (12)

-Invitation based on interest and knowledge shown in Social Sciences and in government.

 

Academic Letter (grades 9, 10, and 11)

-Letter based on GPA.

 

Band Letter (grades 9, 10, 11, and 12)

-Letter based on ability and participation.

 

Secondary Writing Endorsement (sophomore)

-Acknowledgement of excellence displayed in writing.

 

Superior Award in Spanish (sophomore)

-Award given for displayed knowledge of Spanish culture and language

- Honor Cords are given at graduation, up to three, each representing one's GPA, to recieve 3, one must have above a 3.85
